Together marks the introductory feature for filmmaker Michael Shanks. It stars Dave Franco and Alison Brie as Millie and Tim, a pair who are not married that have remained a couple for a decade. He dreads the idea of totally forfeiting his sense of self in Millie. This fear is amplified by the reality he lacks a driver's license and needs Millie for getting around.
The director's cleverest decision in Together refrains from painting Tim or Millie the obvious villain.

They find humor with each other, provide solace, and are vulnerable at times. But beneath it all, there’s an unavoidable current of uncertainty about their future together.
